Constructo People
We organize your project around work categories that have a specialty contractor by the same name, for example, electrical work is carried out by electricians employed by an electrical contractor. We typically carry out the demolition and structural framing with our own forces because these elements 'set the stage' for the rest of the work.
Glynn Shannan, Carpenter, Job Supervisor & Consultant
Glynn was a participant in the ‘Back to the Land Movement in the 70s’, moving into the hills of Lanark County, Ontario, where he built his own log house, and then another, and another.... His reputation was firmly established when he built a beautiful log home for Patrick Watson, a popular television personality. With the increased demand, Glynn added energy efficient frame homes to his offering, and prospered. In the late nineties Glynn, looking for something more relaxing, sold his business interests and took up real estate which he continued until ‘retiring’ with his wife to Victoria.
In 2006, Glynn was recommended to us as someone who might help with a timber framing project. It took some convincing, but once Glynn had those big chisels in his hands again, he re-discovered his love of carpentry and continues to work with ConstructoGroup as a carpenter, a job supervisor and a consultant. Glynn truly enjoys his interaction with clients and having been engaged in all aspects of building, has wisdom to offer.
Brian Bergstrom, Carpenter
Although coming from a family background of carpentry, Brian initially chose a different career path, spending much of his life away from his hometown Victoria. Graduating from both UVIC and UBC, Brian worked his way up in the forest industry becoming an operations manager for a helicopter logging operation. Faced with a downsizing industry, he met change head on, spending several years teaching English at university in Seoul, S. Korea, then completing a post-graduate program in business administration at the University of Wales. 'Seeing the light', Brian returned to Victoria and is pursuing his latent interest in his grandfather’s field of carpentry. Brian enjoys the many challenges of the home renovation experience. One of his key points of satisfaction in his work emanates from his belief that " to improve your home is to improve your life."
Geoff Farrell, Carpenter & Job Supervisor

There is a tradition of artistic people becoming carpenters who surprisingly can be quite pragmatic in carrying out their duties. This seems to be Geoff's lot as he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at UBC and went on to gather, over 20 years, a well rounded experience in carpentry.
Geoff enjoys opportunities to work on Victorian Arts and Crafts era buildings, but also appreciates modernist design. His spare time includes Aikido, reading Canadian Literature and being involved in community radio.
Geoff's mantra: "let's build healthy, our lives depend on it."
Nick Schloendorf, Estimator & Project Coordinator

Nick graduated from SAIT Polytechnic in 2009 as an Architectural Technologist. While Nick's communication skills were tested bartending at 4th Street Bar, his leadership was tested in 2004 as captain of Alberta's basketball team in the Arctic Winter games - they won gold.
Nick's productivity is a bit questionable however. When working in the fast paced environment of a scaffolding company, he accumulated over 1,000 hours overtime in one year. For us, Nick does estimating and coordinating the turnover of your job to the job supervisor. When there is not enough office work, he is quick to be on site helping out.
Nick's preferred slogan is "Building to Enhance Your Life."
Erwin Shulman, Controller

Erwin is a past customer, who, when reviewing our invoice, had far too many questions for a 'normal' customer. As it turned out Erwin had just retired to Victoria from his position as comptroller to a medium size residential and office construction and development company in Toronto. Now he helps us keep our financial house in order.
